Play Responsibly

Play Match offers you a fun service, but always remember: play responsibly!.
Play Match is dedicated to supporting responsible gaming behaviour, spreading awareness concerning the dependence on gambling and improving policies of intervention and care for this problem.
Play Match’s Play Responsibly policy has the objective of reducing the negative aspects of gambling dependency and promoting responsible gaming behaviour.
Gambling can create a true dependence, as can happen in any other situation brought to excess. Anyone can lose control over their playing, regardless of age, cultural formation or financial situation.

On this page you will find some useful advice and resources to avoid dependency. You can find help here if you need it.

Under 18

The law prohibits minors under the age of 18 from opening an account or gambling on the Play Match sites.
Minors who are discovered playing on these sites will lose their winnings and the situation could be taken to the local authorities.

  Advice for use

Play Match considers it a duty to ensure that you, our customers, can enjoy yourselves betting on our site, remaining aware, however, of the possible social and economic harm associated with gambling.
Gambling can be fun, pleasurable and exciting, but it is essential to know how to control oneself, respect the rules of behaviour and follow some basic guidelines.

• Take advantage of the possibility to play for free. This way, you can get used to the sound effects and graphics, as well as learn the rules of the game.

• Never place a bet for more than you can afford.

• Never play when you are tired or under the effect of alcohol.

• Put a limit on your winnings. Once you have reached it, put some of it aside and play only with the remaining money.

• Do not go into debt to be able to play.

  Controls and limits on gaming

In order to better support our players to allow them to play according to their own capabilities, we provide our staff with appropriate training on responsible gaming and we have put the following information and functions on our site:
- maximum betting limits
- self-exclusion from the game
- maximum loss limits
- maximum duration of each gaming session
- contact information for associations that provide help for gambling dependency

Maltese legislation for online gaming, which is on the website, offers you to possibility of setting your gaming limits which Play Match is then bound to respect.

To do this, you simply need to communicate in writing via e-mail to the following address: info@playmatch.eu.

In particular, you can:

• set the maximum limit that you can bet within a determined period of time;

• set the maximum amount of losses within a determined period of time;

• set the maximum duration of each gaming session;

• exclude yourself from a game for a determined or undetermined period of time.

You can set these limits for a determined or undetermined time period, change or cancel them, always in writing via e-mail to info@playmatch.eu.

We will adapt the game to your restrictions within the time necessary to implement the software, to allow you to play in peace without worrying about excess.

Raising or removing the limit,and reducing the period of exclusion, will go into effect 7 days after receipt of your communication, to allow us to carefully review your decision. Reducing the limit or extending your exclusion period, however, go into effect immediately upon receipt of your communication.

Maximum duration of gaming session
in all of our games you can set a maximum duration of a gaming session. The TIMER function appears on the screen every 60 minutes, (or more frequently depending on your settings) and remembers how long you have been playing. Once the bet has been placed, the player can then continue to play or close the game application. For further information on this function, contact the Helpdesk.

  Find out if you have a problem

Do you think gambling could have negative repercussions on your life or the lives of others close to you?
The following questions can help you to understand if this is the case.

  • Is gambling preventing you from attending school or going to work on a regular basis?
  • Do you play to pass time or kill boredom?
  • Do you play alone for long periods of time?
  • Have you ever received criticism from someone because you are a gambler?
  • Have you lost interest in your family, your friends or your hobbies because of gambling?
  • Have you ever lied to hide the amount lost in a game, or the time you have spent playing?
  • Have you ever lied, stolen or asked for loans to maintain your playing standards?
  • Are you reluctant to spend money on other things that you have set aside for gambling?
  • Do you play until you have lost all your money?
  • When you have lost money, do you feel as though you have to play to recover the money lost as soon as possible?
  • If you run out of money while you are playing, do you feel lost, desperate and the need to play again, as soon as possible?
  • Do arguments, frustration or sorrow give you the desire to play?
  • Does gambling make you feel depressed, or trigger suicidal feelings?
The number of positive answers to these questions will indicate your level of involvement in gambling. The more positive answers you have, the more possible it is that you may have a gambling problem.
